Good Friday
This year I was honored to participate in “Women Preach: Meditations on the Passion” at St. Ignatius Church in San Francisco alongside three other women. Scripture, art and music were at the center of this observance. I spoke on Matthew 27:46 paired with the cover piece for this post called “The Long Rain” by Pauline Williamson. Sitting with the pain of so many disasters, school shootings, the constant war on Black lives along with the garden variety pain that comes with this life, I’m feeling the weight of it all. Speaking about the pain of the Cross was cathartic. It’s also interesting being a good Baptist preaching in a Catholic Church. I love it!
